ALE ACTIVATION FOR GLOBAL SIMULATED EMERGENCY TEST. Ham operators with Automatic Link Establishment (ALE) capability are encouraged to participate in the GlobalSET (Global Simulated Emergency Test) communications exercise on the air Saturday 3 May 2008. The objective is to promote international readiness for emergency/disaster relief communications, and to provide valuable knowledge of the resources that can be mobilized in the event of a real emergency. Just get on the air with your ALE system, start scanning and sounding on one or all of the ham radio ALE primary data channels, and then send a "readiness message" to GlobalSET Headquarters via ALE HF email.
To send your GlobalSET readiness message via ALE email on HF:
Call and link with any one of the Ham Radio Global ALE High Frequency Net (HFN)
Pilot Stations. These stations provide ALE to SMS-mobilephone-texting and ALE to email service via AMD messaging:

I look forward to participation Global SET, however the time 1800 - 2200 Hrs is rather late for us in India (with +5:30 shift). Also the fact that propagation conditions are not too good during this time of the year.
Anyways, will tune in and be available for the simulation.
Best 73's
Gaurav
