Urgent Announcement
This article gives the current situation on the Earthquake which affected L'Aquila on 6th April based on information from Alberto IK1YLO, the IARU Emergency Communications Co-Ordinator for Italy.

To permit co-ordination of the arrival of emergency responders to the disaster area amateurs are requested to exercise caution around 3640kHz LSB and 7040/7045kHz LSB and avoid causing QRM to those responding to this emergency.

stations of Emergency Communications Groups to participate in a Global
Simulated Emergency Test on Saturday 18th April 2009 11.00 – 15.00
UTC. The operation will take place on and near the emergency
Centre-of-Activity (CoA) frequencies on 80, 40, 20, 17 and 15 metres (+-
QRM ).

Costa Rica Earthquake - Frequencies in use

Urgent Announcement
Following the earthquake which struck Costa Rica on Thursday, January 8 at 1921 UTC. The Radio Club de Costa Rica (RCCR) is monitoring local repeaters and 7090 kHz. IARU Region 2 Emergency Communications Coordinator Cesar Pio Santos, HR2P, requests that 7090 kHz be kept clear of non-essential traffic due to possible emergency communications dealing with the earthquake. All amateurs need to be aware of the emergency operations on this frequency and avoid interfering with Spanish language QSOs which may be related to the activity.
